Karimah Zuhdi Tarazi was conceived in Jerusalem, Palestine and born in Istanbul in 1962.
She completed high school at Stuyvesant HS, educated at St Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from St Francis College, all in NYC.
Karimah achieved her Masters Studies in Comparative European Art. She has been writing and painting since she was 12 in Beirut, and has travelled through the world as a Palestinian. Although she has resided in several cities for extended times, she considers Jerusalem home and her base.
She initiated the Facebook page Palestinian Creators of Art, Music, Poetry, Comedy, Tragedy, to gather all Palestinian Artists in a collective site in 2014. Karimah was the recipient of NAANA’s Angel of Mercy Award and the Lady of the Earth Award in 2018 for her global work as a Palestinian and a nurse.
She is on The Palestine Museum US’s Global Advisory Board and was a member of Board of Directors of the Instituto Chileno Arabe de Cultura from 2012-2017.
She is currently working on her memoirs “ANOMALY”.
